Dr. Gregory F. Bell DDS has more than 30 years of periodontics practice. A specially trained dentist, a

periodontist works with patients on issues of periodontal disease and oral inflammation. A periodontist also has expertise related to the placement of dental implants.

In his practice, Dr. Bell performs a variety of periodontal plastic surgery and regenerative periodontics procedures. Dr. Gregory F. Bell DDS: A Well-educated Professional

Dr. Bell attended the Air Force Academy before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from theUniversityofWyoming. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree from theUniversityofMinnesota. It was there he pursued his dental education. At theUniversityofMinnesota, Dr. Bell earned both his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree as well as his Masters of Science in Dentistry. Notably, he graduated first in his dental school class.

In the year after he graduated as aDDS, Dr. Bell practiced general dentistry. He then went on to graduate school, during which time he completed a residency at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. As part of this program, he completed a number of hospital rotations including General Anesthesia, Surgical Pathology and Infectious Disease Services. The residency also required a two-year study of periodontal services in the clinical and hospital settings. After this time, Dr. Bell began his practice of Periodontics.

Today, Dr. Gregory F. BellDDSis a board certified practitioner with the American Board of Periodontology. Of the 11 periodontists practicing inAlbuquerque, he is one of only two who hold this certification. In addition, Dr. Bell is licensed to practice in the state ofNew Mexico. He is also a registered dental practitioner with the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy.

Well respected within the community, Dr. Gregory F. Bell DDSwas named Albuquerque Magazine’s “Periodontist of the Year” for three years in 2007, 2008 and 2010. Furthermore, he was listed in the “More Top Dentists” for the periodontal category in 2009, 2011 and 2012. Dr. Gregory F. Bell DDS: Active in Education and the Community

Along with his many responsibilities, Dr. Gregory F. Bell DDS has held teaching positions at the University of New Mexico. As both a Clinical and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene, he taught dentistry students in a number of courses. His areas of expertise included a range Periodontology courses as well as dental specialties. He also served as a Clinical Instructor and Supervising Dentist.

Today, he is finishing out a term as President of the Dental Assisting Advisory Board at Central New Mexico Community College. He has served as a member of the board since 1993. His dental practice is also a host office for interns pursing specialty training.

Dr. Bell is proud to have organized a local Spear Education Study Club. This organization facilitates interdisciplinary discussions among practitioners of both general and specialized dentistry. The group is known as the Albuquerque Spear Study Club.

Group members come together to discuss patient care and other hot topics in the dental industry. They attend eight, three hour continuing education meetings at the New Mexico Dental Association headquarters in Albuquerque.

Throughout his career, Dr. Bell has accumulated a vast array of knowledge. As such, he is a sought-after speaker who has delivered informative presentations to a number of groups across New Mexico and the nation. Dr. Bell takes time to review his findings with patients. His thorough consultation includes a discussion of what caused the problem and available treatment options.
